Tangled 2 (2026) revisits the magical world of Corona, continuing the story that began in Tangled. With its blend of romance, humor, and adventure, the sequel aims to recapture the charm of the original while exploring a more mature chapter in Rapunzel’s life.
This time, the story focuses on Rapunzel adjusting to her role as a princess while struggling with questions about identity, responsibility, and her place in the kingdom. The narrative introduces a new threat that pushes her beyond the castle walls once again, giving the film a familiar yet expanded sense of adventure. While the plot is engaging, it occasionally leans on predictable tropes, making some twists feel less impactful.

One of the film’s biggest strengths is its character development. Rapunzel is portrayed with greater emotional depth, balancing her signature optimism with moments of doubt and growth. Flynn Rider (Eugene) continues to provide humor and heart, and their relationship feels more grounded and mature. The supporting cast, including Pascal and Maximus, add lighthearted moments, though they don’t have as much standout presence as before.
Visually, the film is stunning. The animation builds on the original’s painterly style, with vibrant colors, detailed environments, and beautifully choreographed musical sequences. Speaking of music, the new songs are enjoyable and well-integrated into the story, even if they don’t quite reach the iconic status of “I See the Light.”

However, the sequel struggles to fully match the originality of the first film. Some moments feel like a retread of familiar ideas, and the pacing in the middle act slows down the overall momentum.
Still, Tangled 2 (2026) succeeds in delivering a heartfelt and visually enchanting experience. It may not surpass its predecessor, but it offers a satisfying continuation for fans who want to spend more time with these beloved characters.
Rating: 7.5/10
A charming and visually beautiful sequel that deepens its characters, even if it plays things a bit too safe in its storytelling.
